Green tomato and Apple pie

Green tomato and Apple pie Recipe:

1. Brush the bottom and sides of a pastry-lined pie dish with the unbeaten egg white

2. Cover the pastry with a layer of the sliced tomatoes

3. Sprinkle with a little salt, cinnamon and nutmeg

4. Cream the butter and the brown sugar together

5. Dot the above butter mixture on top of the tomatoes

6. Cover with a layer of the thinly sliced apples and repeat with the seasoning and the dotting of the butter mixture

7. Add another layer of tomatoes and 2more layers of the apples, each layer being seasoned and buttered

9. Round the filling in the center and pour in the cup of cider

10. Adjust the top crust, make a few slashes and brush it with some milk

11. Bake the dish in a moderate oven for about 40minutes or until the crust is delicately browned

Small, thinly sliced green tomatoes
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon brown sugar
Thinly sliced tart apples
1 / 3 cup cider
A little milk
