Polenta Recipe:
1. Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt to the water and bring it to the boil
2. Sprinkle the polenta into the water steadily while continuously stirring to prevent the formation of lumps
3. After adding all the flour, continue stirring until the mixture is smooth
4. Simmer gently for about 30minutes until the polenta is thick enough to allow a spoon to stand in it (it should however not be dry)
5. Add salt and pepper to taste
6. Grease a shallow ovenproof dish of about 230mm in diameter
7. Spoon the polenta into the dish
8. Using a spatula, shape the polenta to form a flat cake
9. Mark out 6 wedge-shaped equal portions on top of the polenta
10. Let the polenta chill for about an hour
11. Cut the polenta apart along the marked sections
12. Spoon the melted butter over the polenta and sprinkle it with the grated cheese
13. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25minutes or until the polenta is golden brown
14. Serve hot
