Maple Walnut Ice Cream Recipe:
1. Heat the maple syrup
2. Beat the egg yolks until they are light
3. Gradually stir in the heated syrup
4. Cook the mixture over hot water while constantly stirring until the custard coats the spoon
5. Stir in the teaspoon of vanilla
6. Cool the mixture
7. Fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites and the whipped heavy cream
8. Freeze the ice cream in a covered container until it is mushy
9. Remove the container and stir in the walnuts
10. Return the container to the freezer and finish the freezing
