Molasses Oatcakes

Molasses Oatcakes Recipe:

1. Grease two baking sheets

2. Mix the following ingredients in a bowl: oatmeal, flour, salt and bicarbonate of soda

3. Melt the butter and molasses over gentle heat in a saucepan

4. Add the liquid mixture to the dry ingredients and mix well

5. Spoon the mixture onto the baking sheets in 12 even-sized mounds

6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 12minutes

7. Serve hot

List of ingredients required:

(makes 12 cakes)

2 oz (50g) plain flour
Pinch of salt
1/4 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
2 oz (50g) butter
90ml molasses
6 oz (175g) medium oatmeal

The oven should be preheated at a temperature of 375F (190)
