Empanadas Recipe:
- Grind coarsely 1 1/2 cups each of lean beef and pork and 1//2 cup ham, a small pimento and 2 tablespoons shelled almonds.
- Mix the meat with 3 tablespoons each of seedless raisins and sliced olives.
- Also add 1 tablespoon capers.
- Sprinkle it with salt and pepper.
- Sprinkle lightly with Worcestershire sauce.
- Add a few drops of Tabasco.
- Stir in just enough melted butter to make a spreadable mixture.
- Roll out pie dough.
- Cut out 8 inch squares.
- Spread a liberal scoop of the meat mixture on one half of each square.
- Fold the other half over.
- Seal the edges.
- Bake the empanada in a moderately hot oven (375ºF) until they are golden brown.
