Banana Tea Bread Recipe:

  1. Sift together 1 3/4 cups sifted flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon baking soda and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
  2. Cream 1/3 cup butter.
  3. Add gradually 2/3 cup sugar.
  4. Beat until light and fluffy.
  5. Add 2 well-beaten eggs.
  6. Beat thoroughly.
  7. Add the sifted dry ingredients.
  8. You can also add 1 cup mashed ripe bananas.
  9. Beat after each addition until the batter is smooth.
  10. Turn the batter into a buttered bread pan.
  11. Bake in a moderate oven (350ºF) for about 70 minutes.
