Curried Lamb

It is your basic curried lamb recipe, very easy to make and served over buttered noodles.  The ingredients are fairly cheap and easy to acquire.

Curried Lamb Recipe:

  1. Combine 1/4 cup flour, 1 teaspoon salt and pepper is a bow.
  2. Dredge meat in them mixture, coating all sides.
  3. Melt butter in large sauce pan with cover.
  4. Brown the meat slowly, turning frequently.
  5. Remove the meat.
  6. Sprinkle 2 teaspoons flour in the pan and mix until smooth.
  7. Gradually add light cream, stirring vigorously over moderate heat.
  8. Continue to cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
  9. Gradually add lemon juice and stir well.
  10. Season with the bay leaf, 1 1/4 teaspoon salt and curry powder.
  11. Add the browned meat and sliced onions.
  12. Cover and simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally, for about 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until tender.
  13. If the gravy becomes too thick during cooking, thin out with some hot water.
  14. Skim off the fat before serving.
  15. Serve over buttered noodles.
  16. Makes 4 servings.

  • Few grains of pepper.
  • 1 Tablespoon butter.
  • 2 Pounds boned lean lamb shoulder cut in 2″ cubes.
  • 2 Teaspoons flour.
  • 2 Cups light cream.
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice.
  • 1 Bay leaf.
  • 1 Tablespoon curry powder.
  • 1 Cup sliced onions.
  • Hot water.
  • Buttered hot noodles.
