Cheesy Apple Pie

Cheesy Apple Pie Recipe:

1. Sift the flour and salt into a mixing bowl

2. Cut the butter into pieces and rub it into the flour mixture until the mixture is crumbly

3. Grate the cheese and blend it into the pastry mixture

4. Knead the pastry into a stiff dough using some cold water

5. Divide the pastry in half

6. Roll out one half of the pastry onto a floured surface and use it to line a pie plate

7. Peel, core and slice the apples

8. Pile them over the pastry and sprinkle some sugar over the pastry

9. Roll out the remaining pastry

10. Moisten the edge of the lining and cover the pie with the pastry

11. Press the edges down in order to seal them

12. Make an air vent in the center

13. Beat the egg lightly together with the tablespoons of milk

14. Brush the pie with the egg mixture

15. Bake the pie for 35 to 40minutes in the center of the preheated oven

16. Serve the pie cold

8 oz plain flour
1/2 level teaspoon salt
4 oz unsalted butter
4 oz cheddar cheese
2 lb cooking apples
1 level tablespoon caster sugar
1 egg
1 to 2 tablespoons milk

The oven should be preheated to a temperature of 425F (220C)
