Baked Hake Recipe:

1. Butter an ovenproof dish

2. Wipe the steaks thoroughly and arrange them in a layer in the buttered dish

3. Sprinkle the steaks with salt and pepper

4. Strain the lemon juice and pour it over the steaks

5. Add a tablespoon of oil to the dish and cover it with foil

6. Bake in the center of the oven for 25minutes

7. In the meantime, chop the tomatoes

8. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic

9. Wash the pepper and remove the stock and seeds

10. Chop the pepper into small pieces

11. Heat two tablespoons of oil in a large frying pan

12. Fry the onion, garlic, and pepper over low heat for about 5minutes

13. Blend in the tomatoes and season to taste with salt, pepper and marjoram

14. Let the mixture simmer for about 10minutes

15. Remove the fish from the oven and drain off most of the liquid

16. Pour the onion and tomato mixture over the fish

17. Return the dish to the oven for another 10minutes

18. Serve straight from the dish

List of ingredients required:

1 large onion
1 small green pepper
1 clove garlic
Marjoram
3 tablespoons cooking oil
Juice of 1/2 large lemon
Salt and black pepper
6 hake steaks
14 or 16 oz tin of tomatoes

The oven should be preheated at a temperature of 350F (177C)
