Hokey Pokey Ice Cream Recipe:

1. Soften the gelatin in 1 cup of milk

2. Combine the milk, eggs, sugar, salt and lemon rind in a saucepan

3. Mix them well and cook the mixture over high heat while constantly stirring until the cream is thick

4. Add the gelatin to the cream mixture and mix well

5. Pour the cream into a bowl

6. Set the bowl in a pan of cracked ice and stir the mixture until it cools

7. Freeze the ice cream

List of ingredients required:

2 quarts milk
4 eggs, lightly beaten
1 and 1/2 cups sugar
Thinly peeled rind of 1 lemon
A pinch of salt
4 tablespoons gelatin
1 cup milk
