										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h2>Swedish Cardamom Cake Recipe:</h2>
<p>1. Grease and line a 7 to 8inch (180 to 200mm) round cake tin</p>
<p>2. Peel away the outer green husks of the cardamom pods and remove the tiny black seeds</p>
<p>3. Crush these to a fine powder with a pestle and mortar</p>
<p>4. Measure the sugar into a bowl and beat in the butter and egg</p>
<p>5. Mix in the ground cardamom and cream</p>
<p>6. Sieve the flour with baking powder and fold in with the flaked almonds</p>
<p>7. Pour the mixture into the prepared tin</p>
<p>8. Bake in the center of the preheated oven for about 50minutes or until a fine skewer inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean</p>
<p>9. Cool the cake in the tin for about 2minutes then turn out onto a wire rack</p>
<p>10. Sprinkle the cake lightly with caster sugar just before serving</p>

<p>16 cardamom pods<br />
8 oz (225g) plain flour<br />
6 oz (175g) caster sugar<br />
2 oz (50g) melted butter<br />
1 oz (25g) flaked almonds<br />
1 beaten egg<br />
1/4 pint (150ml) single cream<br />
1 level teaspoon baking powder<br />
A little caster sugar</p>
<p>The oven should be preheated at a temperature of 350F (180C)</p>
