<p>1. Cut the chicken into pieces</p>
<p>2. Sprinkle the pieces with salt and pepper</p>
<p>3. Saute the chicken in a large saucepan using the 3 tablespoons of butter until the pieces are browned on all sides</p>
<p>4. Add the almonds, raisins, pineapple, cinnamon, cloves and orange juice</p>
<p>5. Cover the pan tightly and simmer the chicken for about 45minutes or until the pieces are tender</p>
<p>6. Separately mix a smooth paste using the flour and the cold water</p>
<p>7. Stir the paste in the pan</p>
<p>8. Cook and stir the chicken until the sauce is thickened</p>
<p>9. Simmer the sauce for 10minutes longer</p>
<p>10. Arrange the chicken on a warmed serving platter and pour a little sauce over it</p>
<p>11. Garnish the platter with the slices of avocado</p>
<p>12. Serve the rest of the sauce separately</p>

<p>4 to 6 lb chicken<br />
Salt and pepper<br />
3 tablespoons butter<br />
12 blanched almonds<br />
1/2 cup seeded raisins<br />
1 cup chopped pineapple<br />
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon<br />
1/8 teaspoon cloves<br />
2 cups orange juice<br />
1 tablespoon flour<br />
2 tablespoons cold water<br />
Avocado, Half-moon slices(garnish)</p>
