1. Cream the sugar and the butter in a mixing bowl

2. Add the 3 eggs and mix well

3. Add the sifted flour and baking powder alternately with the hot water

4. Add the walnuts and the dates to the bowl and mix well

5. Drop the batter by teaspoons onto a buttered baking dish

6. Bake the cookies in a moderately hot oven of 375F (190C) for about 15minutes or until they are golden
