<h2>Savory Lamb Shanks Recipe:</h2>
<ol>
<li>Combine 1/4 cup flour, garlic salt, 1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper in a bowl.</li>
<li>Coat the lamb shanks with seasoned flour.</li>
<li>Melt butter in a large skillet.</li>
<li>Add the meat.</li>
<li>Brown slowly, turning frequently.</li>
<li>Remove the meat.</li>
<li>Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of the seasoned flour mixture in the skillet.</li>
<li>Mix until smooth.</li>
<li>Gradually add 1 cup of beef stock, stirring vigorously over moderate heat.</li>
<li>Continue to cook until thickened, stirring constantly.</li>
<li>Add browned meat.</li>
<li>Cover and simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally, for 1 1/2 hours or until meat is tender.</li>
<li>If the gravy becomes too thick during cooking, thin with some of the remaining beef stock.</li>
<li>Remove meat from the skillet and skim off all fat from the gravy.</li>
<li>Blend together 1 tablespoon flour and sour cream.</li>
<li>Add remaining consommé and stir until smooth.</li>
<li>Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until thickened.</li>
<li>Add meat and peas and heat.</li>
<li>If desired, serve over hot buttered noodles.</li>
