<p>1. Peel and chop the onions</p>
<p>2. Peel and crush the garlic</p>
<p>3. Melt the butter in a pan and fry the chilli and curry powders over low heat for about 1 minute</p>
<p>4. Add the onions and the garlic and continue frying for another 3minutes</p>
<p>5. Gradually stir in the stock</p>
<p>6. Add the tomato puree, lemon juice and syrup</p>
<p>7. Simmer the sauce for about 1hour while covered</p>
<p>8. Stir the fish in the sauce and cook for about 10minutes</p>
<p>9. Season to taste with salt and pepper</p>

<p>1 dessertspoon golden syrup<br />
1 level coffee-spoon chilli powder<br />
1 level tablespoon curry powder<br />
1 oz unsalted butter<br />
1 clove garlic<br />
1 pint chicken stock<br />
2 onions<br />
2 tablespoons tomato puree<br />
Juice of a lemon<br />
Salt and black pepper<br />
1 lb cooked diced fish fillets</p>
