										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h2>Fried Rice with Leeks Recipe:</h2>
<p>1. Set a pan of about 6pints of water to a boil in which the rice will be cooked and a smaller pan holding 1pint of water in which the leeks will be cooked</p>
<p>2. Remove the course outer leaves, roots and tops from the leeks</p>
<p>3. Wash the leeks well under cold running water</p>
<p>4. Cut the leeks into 1/4 inch slices</p>
<p>5. Add a tablespoon of salt to each pan of boiling water</p>
<p>6. Put the leeks in one pan and the rice in the other pan</p>
<p>7. Stir the rice until it comes back to a boil</p>
<p>8. Cover the rice and cook for about 14minutes</p>
<p>9. Meanwhile, simmer the leeks for about 5minutes</p>
<p>10. Drain the leeks through a colander</p>
<p>11. Melt the butter in a pan and fry the leeks in the butter for about 8minutes or until they are just tender</p>
<p>12. When the rice is cooked, turn it into a sieve and wash thoroughly under hot running water</p>
<p>13. Add the drained rice to the leeks in the frying pan</p>
<p>14. Blend the curry powder in the rice</p>
<p>15. Fry for a few minutes while stirring all the time</p>
<p>16. Season to taste with salt and pepper and serve</p>

<p>6 oz (175g) Patna rice<br />
2 oz (50g) unsalted butter<br />
Black pepper<br />
2 level teaspoons salt<br />
2 lb leeks</p>
