<p>2. Cook the mixture over boiling water, constantly stirring until the custard coats the spoon</p>
<p>3. Cool the custard</p>
<p>4. Fold the custard into the heavy whipped cream</p>
<p>5. Thinly peel the ripe figs and press them through a sieve</p>
<p>6. Sprinkle the fig puree with the lemon juice</p>
<p>7. Stir in the cup of sugar and vanilla</p>
<p>8. Fold the fig puree mixture into the custard</p>
<p>9. Blend the ingredients thoroughly</p>
<p>10. Freeze the ice cream</p>
