<p>1. Sift the flour, baking powder and the salt together in a bowl</p>
<p>2. With a pastry blender, cut in the butter</p>
<p>3. Add the egg and the milk to make a manageable dough</p>
<p>4. Chill the dough for an hour</p>
<p>5. Grate the cheese</p>
<p>6. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured board into a 1/4 inch thick rectangle</p>
<p>7. Sprinkle half the dough with half the grated cheese and cover it with the rest of the dough</p>
<p>8. Press the edges together to seal in the cheese</p>
<p>9. Fold the dough again and roll it out to its original size</p>
<p>10. Repeat the process using the remaining half of the ingredients</p>
<p>11. Cut the dough into finger sticks and bake them in the oven at a temperature of 450F (230C) for about 10minutes until they are delicately browned</p>
<p>12. Store in a tightly covered metal container</p>
