<p>1. Butter an ovenproof dish</p>
<p>2. Wipe the steaks thoroughly and arrange them in a layer in the buttered dish</p>
<p>3. Sprinkle the steaks with salt and pepper</p>
<p>4. Strain the lemon juice and pour it over the steaks</p>
<p>5. Add a tablespoon of oil to the dish and cover it with foil</p>
<p>6. Bake in the center of the oven for 25minutes</p>
<p>7. In the meantime, chop the tomatoes</p>
<p>8. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic</p>
<p>9. Wash the pepper and remove the stock and seeds</p>
<p>10. Chop the pepper into small pieces</p>
<p>11. Heat two tablespoons of oil in a large frying pan</p>
<p>12. Fry the onion, garlic, and pepper over low heat for about 5minutes</p>
<p>13. Blend in the tomatoes and season to taste with salt, pepper and marjoram</p>
<p>14. Let the mixture simmer for about 10minutes</p>
<p>15. Remove the fish from the oven and drain off most of the liquid</p>
<p>16. Pour the onion and tomato mixture over the fish</p>
<p>17. Return the dish to the oven for another 10minutes</p>
<p>18. Serve straight from the dish</p>

<p>1 large onion<br />
1 small green pepper<br />
1 clove garlic<br />
Marjoram<br />
3 tablespoons cooking oil<br />
Juice of 1/2 large lemon<br />
Salt and black pepper<br />
6 hake steaks<br />
14 or 16 oz tin of tomatoes</p>
<p>The oven should be preheated at a temperature of 350F (177C)</p>
