Swedish Meatballs

Swedish Meatballs Recipe:

1. Mix the beef, veal and pork together in a large mixing bowl

2. In a saucepan, saute the onions in 2 tablespoons of butter until they are golden

3. Add the sauted onions, bread crumbs, eggs, salt and pepper to the mixing bowl and mix well

4. Shape the mixture into tiny balls

5. Saute the balls in the remaining 6 tablespoons of butter, until they are brown (Shake the pan constantly to prevent the balls from flattening)

6. Turn the meat balls into a deep casserole and keep it warm

7. Add the tablespoons of flour to the saucepan, in which the onions were sauted

8. Stir the heavy cream into the pan and cook the sauce over low heat for about 10minutes while constantly stirring

9. Season the sauce with salt, pepper and the nutmeg

10. Pour the sauce over the meatballs when serving

1 lb ground beef
1/2 lb ground veal
1/2 lb ground pork
1 cup bread crumbs soaked in 2 cups milk
6 tablespoons finely chopped onion
8 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
2 cups heavy cream
2 eggs
Salt and pepper
Nutmeg
