Iced Roman Punch Recipe:

1. Dissolve the sugar in the lemon and orange juice

2. Add the lemon and orange peels to the juices and bring the mixture to a boil

3. Boil the mixture rapidly for 5minutes

4. Remove the fruit peel and cool the syrup

5. Add the cups of champagne and the strong infusion tea to the cool syrup

6. Freeze the mixture

7. About an hour before serving, stir the Italian meringue into the punch glace

8. At the last moment before serving, mix in the rum, a little at a time

9. Serve in sherbet or punch glasses

List of ingredients required:

3/ 4 cup sugar
Juice of 2 lemons
Juice of 1 orange
A strip of lemon peel
A strip of orange peel
2 cups of champagne or dry white wine
1/ 2 cup strong infusion of tea
Italian meringue made with 2 egg whites
1 cup rum
