Golden Angel Food cake Recipe:

1. Combine the sugar, water and 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar in a saucepan

2. Bring the mixture to a boil and cook the syrup until it spins a light thread

3. Beat 8 egg yolks until they are fluffy

4. Gradually beat in the syrup

5. Continue to beat the mixture until it is thick and cool

6. Sift the flour and salt 6times

7. Fold the flour gently into the egg yolks

8. Beat the egg whites until they are frothy

9. Add the remaining 3/4 teaspoon cream of tartar and continue to beat until the egg whites are stiff but not dry

10. Fold in the egg whites together with the teaspoon of lemon juice and orange juice or vanilla

11. Bake the cake in a dry tube pan in a slow oven of 300F (150C) for about 1 and 1/2hours or until the cake tests done

12. Invert the pan and let the cake cool before removing it
