Farmhouse Fruit Cake

Farmhouse Fruit Cake Recipe:

1. Grease an 8inch round cake tin and line it with buttered grease-proof paper

2. Mix the margarine with all the dry ingredients together in a bowl

3. Add the milk and eggs to the dry ingredients and mix well for about 3minutes using a wooden spoon

4. Turn the mixture into the prepared tin and level the top

5. Bake in the center of the preheated oven for about 1 and 1/2hours

6. Leave the cake in the tin for 15minutes then turn it out to cool on a wire rack

List of ingredients required:

12 oz (350g) self-raising flour
6 oz (175g) caster sugar
6 oz (175g) soft tub margarine
3 oz (75g) sultanas
3 oz (75g) seedless raisins
3 oz (75g) glace cherries, chopped
3 tablespoons milk
3 eggs
1 level teaspoon mixed spice
A pinch of salt

The oven should be preheated at a temperature of 350F (180C)
