Apple and Nut Salad Recipe:

1. Wash and core the apples

2. Chop the apples into rough chunks

3. Put the apple chunks in a bowl and sprinkle them with the lemon juice to prevent them from browning

4. Chop the walnuts and set aside about 1/3 for the garnish

5. Pour the soured cream in a separate bowl and stir in the apples and the walnuts

6. Remove any damaged and coarse outer leaves from the cabbage

7. Wash the cabbage thoroughly and cut out the thick center stalk

8. Shred the cabbage finely

9. Scrub the celery and thinly slice it

10. Remove the leaves and roots from the radishes and slice them evenly

11. Wash the raisins and cut them in half

12. Stir all the ingredients into the soured cream mixture

13. Season to taste with salt and pepper

14. Spoon the salad into a serving dish

15. Garnish with the reserved walnuts

12 large radishes
4 crisp dessert apples
3 teaspoons lemon juice
Salt and black pepper
2 oz stoned raisins
3 oz shelled walnuts
3 oz white cabbage
3 sticks celery
1/4 pint soured cream
